What's Up Wednesday (8/26/20)

Fall is right around the corner! I can almost feel it through the hot and humid Florida temperatures that we've been experiencing.  It is the last Wednesday of the month, and here's your What's Up Wednesday for August.

On the last Wednesday of the month I link-up with Shay and Sheaffer to answer these questions:

1.  What we're eating this week...

Birthday cookie cake!  This weekend Vincent is turning 7 and he's requested a basketball cookie cake, so that is exactly what he's going to get.

2.  What I'm reminiscing about...
Take me back to the beach!  We ended July and started August at the beach with our family!  It was our first get away in what felt like forever, and it was so nice seeing the kids have fun with their cousins, I am ready to go back, like now!

3.  What I'm loving...
To celebrate Vincent and Mia turning 7, we tried a new mini donut shop near our house, Van Dough Mini Donuts were amazing, and we will definitely be back!

Vincent and Mia have been friends since birth.  I love, love, love watching these kids grow up together!

4.  What we've been up to...
Saying goodbye to the dog days of summer...

Twas the night before VPK, and Arianna was ready for her big day...

I can't believe my baby is in VPK, she had a great first day of school...

Vincent enjoyed a few more weeks at golf camp...

On her 4th day of VPK she left looking so cute...

And then got I got a call that she had fallen and we were on our way to ER for some stitches in her chin...

We spent time with family in the Villages...

Virtual Open House for our 2nd grader...

Vincent also participated in a free soccer clinic near our house...

We celebrated our two favorite 7-year-olds together with some quality framily time together...

Vincent started the first day of school this week on Monday...virtually first, and then back to the classroom next week...

5.  What I'm dreading...
Right now I am not dreading anything, and that's a good thing!

6.  What I'm working on...
I have been working on my patience and really trying to be the best Mom through all of the changes that 2020 has brought.  It hasn't been easy, but it is definitely worth it.

7.  What I'm excited about...
This weekend we are surprising Vincent with a trip to Orlando and an overnight stay at a hotel with a lazy river.  We can't have a party for him this year, due to COVID, but we will celebrate him just as much!

8.  What I'm watching/reading...
I must have missed the first two weeks, but I realized that Big Brother was back on, and I am here for it!  This season is an all star season, and it has been a great show to just veg out on at night after a stressful day.

9.  What I'm listening to...
I am almost done listening Open Book by Jessica Simpson, on Audible.  I am loving her narration of her story and would highly recommend this book!  I love how she shares her struggles and transparency of things that we didn't see in her life in the public eye.

10.  What I'm wearing...
I am still working from home, and it's so hot outside, so I have been wearing lots of tshirts and shorts.  I am ready for the cooler weather and to bring out my fall cozies.

11.  What I'm doing this weekend...
Celebrating our baby boy!

12.  What I'm looking forward to next month...
September is the official start of fall and also my brother and I's birthday month!  Also, my fall decorations will be coming out!

13.  What else is new...
Life has been crazy and hard and throwing us all of the curve balls this year.  I have been relying on my faith now more than ever to get me through.  God continues to show me that there are good things in front of us.  Don't give up hope!

What's Up Wednesday (7/29/20)

It's the last Wednesday of July, which means it's time for What's Up Wednesday.  July felt long, it was hot, there's still uncertainty about school, and increasing counts of COVID in Florida.  I honestly thought by now we'd be in a better place, but we're not.  With that said, I'm glad to say goodbye to July and hello to August.  Here's a look at what we've been up to this month!
On the last Wednesday of the month I link-up with Shay and Sheaffer to answer these questions:

1.  What we're eating this week...

I made a batch of homemade granola this weekend and there is literally nothing better!

2.  What I'm reminiscing about...
How fast this summer went.  Anyone else?  While the days felt long, especially with both kids home, I can't believe we're already at the end of July.

3.  What I'm loving...
Having Arianna hone with me and this girl's style!  The other day she came downstairs and had gotten herself "ready" to go get her brother from camp.  Her and I had a special lunch date the other day and she requested frozen yogurt.  Her mask is our new normal, complete with eyeshadow and heels to match!

4.  What we've been up to...
We started off the month by taking a day off of work to hit the beach with friends!  We socially distanced, and soaked up the sun.  It was a great time...

We celebrated the 4th of July...

Vincent got a new set of clubs, and by default, Arianna did too...

More time spent in our best quarantine purchase...

Practicing our bike riding skills...

Losing our minds...literally, you can see Mike working in the background behind these two...

So when you need more activities, you glue gems to shoe boxes, lol...

Vincent finally got his new sheets, and now his room redesign is complete, except for the paint...

We went to my parents for swimming and ice cream...

My beautiful girl got her hair trimmed for summer...

5.  What I'm dreading...
We still don't know what's happening with school, so right now I am still dreading the waiting game finding out what is going to happen with Elementary School.  Arianna is in VPK, and that can not be offered virtually, so she will be going back to school on the 10th.  Our county already pushed back our start date from the 10th to the 24th, but now we are waiting to find out what modalities will be offered.

6.  What I'm working on...
Next week I am hosting a workshop at our yoga studio, and I am excited for that.

7.  What I'm excited about...
VACATION!!  Tomorrow we leave for our first family vacation in forever.  I seriously can not wait!

Also ,my new planner came in the mail.  I love my Erin Condren planner!  I still don't have much to put into it at this point, but I love the zodiac sign theme that I picked this year.

8.  What I'm watching/reading...
Ya'll I found out that Outer Banks got picked up for a 2nd season! I'm so excited to watch it when it comes back, especially since the setting is in the Bahamas.

I started watching Zac Efron in Down to Earth, and it is making me want to travel so much!  I highly recommend this Netflix original.  He shares things that he learns as he travels the globe that contribute to eco-friendly behaviors that we can all incorporate.

I listened to In Five Years, and I don't think I've ever gone through an audiobook so quickly!  I loved, loved, loved this fun story about a girl who sees herself in the future five years from the night she gets engaged.  It's charming, set in NYC, and also a story of true friendship! Loved it!

I started reading Open Book by Jessica Simpson.  I love how relatable she is in this memoir, and I just love her as a person.  I have followed her for a long time, and this book is so transparent about the things in her life, highly recommend.

9.  What I'm listening to...
The new Taylor Swift album, was it not the surprise of the summer?  Also still have hte Hamilton soundtrack on repeat.

10.  What I'm wearing...
I just ordered a few cute, cheap things from Target that are joining me on our trip.
This cute $15 dress

And these functional tanks that I know I will wear over and over again.  I ordered them in white and black, they were 2 for $14!

11.  What I'm doing this weekend...
VACATION!

12.  What I'm looking forward to next month...
August is not only the start of school, but my baby is turning 7!  How did this happen?  I am looking forward to a new type of celebration for this special boy in our lives.

13.  What else is new...
Our family had a huge wake-up call one week ago today.  One of my favorite people on this planet suffered a severe stroke.  He's family, our cousin, and the life of the party.  We have been lifting up his wife and those closest to him in prayers, but he still has a long road ahead.  Please pray for our cousin Blake for his full and complete healing from this awful incident.
