Do What You Love

The last few months I've spent a majority of my weekends studying to be a teacher for  something that I love....YOGA!  This past weekend, my formal training came to a close, and I've spent some time reflecting back on everything I've learned and how this experience has changed me, and I wanted to share some of that with you.

I should start by saying a huge THANK YOU to everyone who supported me over these last few months, especially my hubby.  It certainly wasn't easy being away from my boys so often and we had so much help and support, I feel so thankful and blessed!

I started doing yoga soon after I graduated college at a studio in Delray Beach, FL.  It was a way to cross-train with running and something new to mix in with my workouts.  I was instantly addicted.  After moving to Tampa, I found a studio that was close to my house and was able to further my practice.  I never really thought that eventually I would train to become a teacher myself.  Having a dance background, I always loved the way that yoga increased my flexibility and was still a challenging workout.  When I was pregnant with Vincent, prenatal yoga classes were my savior.  The classes gave me energy and helped me stay active. The last year or so, I found myself wanting more, and started to look into local teacher training programs.  And that's where it all began....

I found my home at Bella Prana Yoga Studio in South Tampa.  April through August 2015 I was immersed in learning so much more about the practice that I had come to love.  One of the things that I love about yoga is that it is physical, mental and spiritual practice.  I learned more about myself in the last few months than I have in a long time.  I am a lot stronger than I ever thought I was.  I learned to slow down, and what truly is important in life.  Throughout the training I was pushed out of my comfort zones and met some of the most amazing souls that I now have a lifelong bond with.  I learned about meditation, and the science behind it and why it works.  Your breath is one of the most important things your body does.  You can function without some organs, but you can not function without your breath.  I learned that your breath can help guide you through your practice.  Yoga works, and it can work for anyone! I still have so much to learn, but am so excited to see where this experience will take me.  I can't wait to share my love of yoga and see who it is able to connect me with.

All of my Bella Prana Family!

If there's any advise that I can give you, I would say to follow your dreams, even when they seem impossible!!  If you are doing something you love, it will be one of the most amazing experiences of your life!

Bump Update
Feeling great, almost four months along and my energy is coming back!  I get to hear the baby's heartbeat this week and can't wait!  It is going by so fast, I know that February will be here before we know it.  At 14 weeks Baby Flo #2 was the size of a lemon.  At 15 weeks he/she is the size of an orange, clearly we are going through the tropical phase.

My baby turns 2 this week - how is that even possible?! We're having a small family get together, and I'll be sure to share some adorable pictures from his Elmo themed celebration with you next week on the blog.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Although it's still so hot and rainy here in FL, my favorite season is right around the corner, FALL! I was at the mall with Vincent yesterday and seeing all of the fall scents out in Bath and Body Works gave me a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. There are so many things I love about fall, and that time of the year.  Some of them are back to school shopping, my birthday, Halloween, the comfort food, Starbucks pumpkin spice lattes and spending time with family and friends.  I always wonder when is too early to start putting my Halloween decorations up, they're usually up by mid-September.  However, the one thing that makes me love the season the most is the start of football!

I have always been a huge football fan, and there's nothing I love more than spending all day tailgating and going to a game, or vegging-out in front of the TV watching all the top games. This year, there won't be much tailgating for me, but there will be lots of football watching.  Saturday my family went to see the Tampa Bay Buccaneers open practice. While Mike grew up a Dolphins fan, I think that living in Tampa for almost 5 years now, he's a reformed Bucs fan. I'm pretty sure Vincent will grow up with the love of sports, especially football, knowing who his parents are.

This year's starting quarterback and FSU alum, Jameis Winston!

 Vincent's First Popsicle

This pic right here just hits me in that deep spot in my heart!  Love my two boys more than anything!

While we couldn't see much of the practice from where we was sitting, I have concerns about Jameis Winston trying to live up to his #1 draft pick and forcing the ball into tight spaces and then handing it over to the other team.  I saw him throw two interceptions while we were there.  As a Florida State Alumni, I want to see him do well, even more as a Bucs fan, since that's where the team has decided to invest their future.  I'm excited for the season to start, and see how everything works out this year.  Even if this year is as miserable as the last, I'll always be a Bucs fan, tried and true!

What are some of your favorite things about Fall?

Bump Update
We're settling in here at 13 weeks, moving into the second trimester.  Time is definitely going more quickly now that I have a toddler to keep me busy.  I also feel like I am showing sooner in this pregnancy than my first.  I have heard that happens.

Big News!

This blog is something that I've been thinking of, dreaming of, and talking about for a while. It's finally time to put the pencil to the paper, or fingers to the keyboard, and make it happen. Today's posts makes all of those visions a reality.  Welcome to my blog! I don't really know who will read this, if anyone, but I'm excited to have this creative avenue to share a little bit about my life with you all and hopefully provide some entertainment.  My goal is to post what's going on in my world, things that interest me, and some of my favorite things.  Future post topics might include things like fashion, fitness, food, travel, mommy-hood and family.

What better way to start my blog, than with biggest news right now for my little family.  there are some big changes happening in the Florio household.  Vincent, my first born son, will become a big brother in February 2016!  Vincent loves books, and has been studying up on his new role.  Really...he just wanted me to move out of his way so he could see what was on tv.

We are so excited to become a family of four, but also a little nervous.  Becoming a mom in August of 2013 is definitely one of the biggest moments of my life and helped define who I am today.  I can't imagine loving another little person as much as I love my little man.  I'm feeling great, and nearing the second trimester, hoping for a little more energy.  I am excited to take you all on this journey with me!!
