Boy or Girl?

We never found out the gender with Vincent, so deciding if we were going to find out with Baby Flo #2 was something we thought long and hard about.  Mike didn't want to know the gender, thinking back to that amazing moment when we found out with Vincent, and wanting to do the same thing again.  But, I wasn't so sure I could wait this time.  Things will definitely be different bringing home baby with a 2-year-old at home.  So at our 20 week ultrasound we had the tech write down baby's gender and give it to us in a sealed envelope.  That envelope sat in my desk drawer for three weeks teasing me.  So, I decided it was time to find out!  

I took the sealed envelope to Bakery Melange, the same place that made Vincent's 2nd birthday cake, and asked them to make a gender reveal cake.  I was still a little unsure if finding out was the thing I wanted to do.  On Sunday, October 18, I picked up the cake after returning home from Tallahassee with my parents.  

When I picked up the cake, the staff were all smiling big, and made me feel so anxious to know what our family would look like in a few short months.  Surrounded by immediate family, we cut the cake!

This picture was taken right after I pulled out that piece of cake.  I think Mike's face says it all, and I was trying not to let the cake drop.  We are going to be adding a baby girl to our family in 2016!   I was convinced she was another boy, since my pregnancy has been easier than it was with Vincent so far.  

Vincent was a little unsure what all the screaming from his grandmothers was about, but he was happy to dig into the delicious cake.  I am so glad that we found out the way we did, and I wouldn't change it for anything.  We feel so blessed to be adding another baby to our family, and even more that we will now have one of each, my baby boy and little girl.  I think I always thought I would have a boy and girl, since that's what my mom had, but we honestly would have been happy with either a boy or a girl, as long as this baby is healthy.  

Bump Update

It is hard to imagine that we are already at the 100 day countdown, give or take, until we meet this Florio princess.  It is going to fly by with the holidays and she will be here before we know it.  I am getting bigger, and feeling her move all the time.  It truly is the best feeling in the world!
