What's Up Wednesday (3/30/16)

It's the last Wednesday of the month and time for another What's Up Wednesday!

On the last Wednesday of every month I'm linking up with Shay to answer these questions:

1.  What we're eating this week...

Leftovers from the Easter feast that my mom made for us this weekend.  Ham, fish, sweet potatoes, cauliflower salad, and some delicious strawberry shortcake!  Thank you mom for always spoiling us, and going all out to make holidays special.

2.  What I'm reminiscing about...

My baby boy....when did my baby boy turn into a big kid?  As I look back through baby pictures of Vincent to compare him to his sister at different stages, I honestly can't believe how quick he's grown, and how time really just flies.

3.  What I'm loving...

Having a baby girl to dress up!  She had tree different outfits for her first Easter, so of course, she had to wear them all.  The funny thing is that I didn't actually purchase any of these outfits, they were all either gifts or hand-me-downs.  This girl is set as far as clothes go, and its so fun for mommy :)

4.  What we've been up to...

Egg hunting!  Vincent had four egg hunts for Easter.  One in our community that we attended with our close friends the Perez', one at school, one at our house Easter morning, and one at Nana and Grandpa's house.  He's figured out that when you open the eggs, there's treats inside, there are eggs all over our house!

Vincent also had a successful tear duct correction surgery on Good Friday, thank you Lord!  I was so nervous about it, and he was a champ!  He did great, and we were in and out of the surgery center within a couple hours and by the time he got home he was back to himself.

In pre-op waiting for the doctor, coloring with the crayons and books the nurse gave him

We also visited the Easter Bunny twice this year.  Vincent keeps asking if he's coming, no buddy...he only comes once a year, lol.

5.  What I'm dreading...

Its not until May, but I'm already dreading going back to work.  Ugh, have to pay the bills somehow.

6.  What I'm working on...

Updating my playlists for my upcoming yoga classes on Spotify.  Do you have any good recommendations for songs?

7.  What I'm excited about...

Now that Arianna is 7 weeks old (I can't believe it), I can start working out again, and teaching Yoga.  Monday is my first Community Yoga class post baby, and I can't wait!  I also have the Mommy and Me series that I've been planning with Green Locus Yoga in April.  If you know any moms who  you think would enjoy this, please send them my way!

8.  What I'm watching/reading...

G came to visit, and brought Vincent two new movies, Mary Poppins and Wizard of Oz.  These were two of my favorite movies growing up, and I love re-watching them with Vincent. Its so funny the parts that he loves, and it's even funnier to me that he continues to ask for these movies over the newer ones that he has.

9.  What I'm listening to...

Toddler tantrums, even Mike's mom admitted, the terrible twos are here and in full force.  Vincent tests Mike and I every day, those terrible twos are no joke!  Pray for us :)

10.  What I'm wearing...

Same as last month,I just did my laundry and noticed as I was folding it that it was all yoga pants and tshirts....

"These days I'm lucky if I make it out of my pjs.  We're at home most of the time, so comfort is my aim, enjoying these lazy days while I can :)"

I did find a cute new dress to wear to Lindsay's Bridal Shower from Nordstrom Rack, but other than that, its tshirts and yoga pants over here

11.  What I'm doing this weekend...

Bacheloretting with my BFF!   This weekend is Lindsay's Bachelorette party, and my first girls night out in forever.  Baby girl is staying with Nana and this momma is looking forward to catching up with her girlfriends and celebrating our Bride-to-Be!

12.  What I'm looking forward to next month...

My Best Friend's wedding!!  4/23/16 I get to stand by her side as she marries her man, can't wait!

13.  What else is new...

As I mentioned last month, Vincent started swim lessons this week.  The lessons are one on one with a swim instructor three times a week for three weeks.  Yesterday was the first one, and he was so excited!  All of the other swim lessons he's taken have been with Mike or myself in the pool with him, so I was a little anxious about how he would react with just him and the teacher.

So excited waiting for his turn

Vincent and Miss Kaley

That quickly changed into a huge toddler fit, with him screaming for mommy and daddy to get him out of the pool.   We were supposed to go back for lesson #2 on Tuesday, but it was canceled due to bad thunderstorms here in Tampa.  We will try again on Thursday.

Also, how cute were my babies on Easter?! My heart is so full!!

Arianna's Birth Story

On February 9, 2016 at 2:19pm, we became a family of four.  The day before, I went to the doctor for my 39 week visit and was pretty much miserable.  I never made it to 39 weeks with Vincent, so I figured that with a second baby, she would come even earlier than that.  I was big and uncomfortable, and not sleeping much.  The doctor could tell I wasn't feeling great, and we were discussing my placement on the wait list for February 12th, to be induced (one day past my due date).  Being on the wait list meant I may or may not actually get to be induced on that day, depending on hospital scheduling.  She asked if I was willing to go in the next day instead, as she was the on-call physician for that day.  YES!! I no longer had to worry about when she was coming, or what we would do with Vincent should my water break in the middle of the night.  I knew that I would get to meet my little girl on a Tuesday, February 9th (unless for some awful reason I labored longer that that).  Mike and I went out to dinner when his mom arrived for an early Valentine's Day Dinner and our last date night for a while.

At 5:30am, we arrived at St. Joseph's Women's Hospital for a scheduled induction.  They took us back into a delivery room around 6:30am to get the process started.  This was very different from my delivery with Vincent where I was in contractions  for a while when I arrived to the hospital, and had false labor 5 days before he actually arrived.  At 7:42am they started pitocin to induce contractions.  About an hour later they broke my water.  By 12:40pm I had fully progressed and we were ready to meet our girl. We then waited for the doctor to finish with another delivery before it was our turn.

So excited to meet our baby

At 2:19pm, I delivered a healthy 8lb 10oz, 20 1/4 inch long baby girl.  She had so much hair, and hearing her cry made my heart explode.  We had been waiting for her for so long, and seeing her for the first time was a moment I will never forget.

I wasn't sure if I wanted Big Brother Vincent to meet his little sister on her birthday, or until the next day.  Since she was born earlier in the afternoon, I had time to rest and recover before he was done at school for the day.  Seeing him with her was something that I had dreams about during my pregnancy.  I was worried about how it would go, how he would react, and really so excited to see him take on his new role.  The moment they met exceeded all of my expectations! He was so excited and loved his baby sister from the start.

February 9th is now a very special day for our family, and one that we will never forget!
