Workin' It Wednesday - Keeping your kids entertained all summer!

Happy Wednesday!  After missing last month's link-up due to an unplanned trip for work, I'm back!  Today I'm linking the with Mix and Match Mamma and A Little Bit of Everything for a series where we share how we are working to keep it all together!

Here are the topics we are covering this year, in case you want to join in on the link up fun!

You can see my January post about new year's goals here
February post about keeping my marriage strong here
March post about balancing work & home life here
April post about spring cleaning here

If you ask me the same question next year, this post may be very different.  Thankfully, my kids spend a majority of their days during the week in daycare, and they keep them busy and stimulated with a lot of learning activities.  Vincent starts VPK in the fall, and we plan to do something different with him next summer.  Maybe a camp at our local YMCA or another fun type of activity, before Kindergarten...can't believe I'm already thinking about the BIG K!?! #timepleasestop #thankyoudaycare

We are officially on our Disney annual passholder black-out period (insert sad face here) so that is out of the question for a fun family activity until August.  Living in Florida, there are a few go-to's that I do with my kids to keep them busy and entertained during our weekends of the summer.

#1 - Pool Time
Both kids love to swim.  We are looking to get some more swim lessons under wraps this summer.  Keeping cool during the hot and humid months of summer here in FL involve a lot of time in our community pool.  Pool before nap time is a win/win for everyone!

These pictures remind me just how much my babies have grown!  The first one of Vincent was when he was almost 2, and the one of Arianna is from last summer when she was around 6 months old.

#2 - Splash Pads
Whether we visit splash pads near us or create one in our front yard, our kids love playing in the water!  It keeps them busy for at least an hour, and is so fun to see them living out some of my fondest childhood memories of running through the sprinklers with my brother.  Where were these fancy splash pads when we were growing up?! We just had a sprinkler attachment that I'm pretty sure was just made to water the grass and not provide hours of entertainment for the kids.

#3 - Popsicles
We love to make and eat popsicles.  Vincent has so much fun being my sous chef, and I'm sure that Arianna is right behind him.
This is the popsicle mold I use, and I love it!  I have never had any issues with it, and it fits easily in our freezer.  It is also easy to clean, and works great.  I would highly recommend it.

This weekend we made these popsicles again, mostly for momma as a healthy treat.  We also made some out of Gatorade.  So easy, we just poured it into the molds.  Vincent loved it!

Looking forward to this month's link up for some more great ideas from this amazing momma group to keep my kids busy during the summer months!

This weekend we are heading out of town for a family getaway to the beach with our neighbors, what better way to spend summer than at the BEACH!

XO
