Workin' It Wednesday - Getting School Ready

Happy Wednesday!  Today I'm linking the with Mix and Match Mamma and A Little Bit of Everything for a series where we share how we are working to keep it all together!

Here is the schedule, in case you want to join in on the link up fun!

You can see my January post about new year's goals here
February post about keeping my marriage strong here
March post about balancing work & home life here
April post about spring cleaning here
June post about keeping kids entertained all summer here
July post about a weekend in my life here

I still have "babies" in the house, although today Arianna officially turns 1 1/2, so I feel like that makes her a little kid, instead of a baby (but she'll always be my baby!) Working full time, my kids are in daycare all day.  Vincent is transitioning into VPK this year, which is the same thing as Pre-Kindergarten, but state funded in Florida.  He is staying at the same daycare for this program, and thank goodness, no school supplies are required from the parents!  Next year we'll be heading into Kindergarten (not ready) and we'll be running to Target to get our school supplies.

So this year, even though I don't have to do much to get ready for school, there are still a few tips I have for getting geared up to head back to school :)  Looking forward to the link-up for ideas on new traditions to start with my kids in the next few years.

1. Enjoy those summer months with your kids
Summer months of full of fun in the sun and time spent by the pool with the family.  They are much slower pace, and I feel like once August/September hits, daily life is just busier.  There are more activities going on and more to do.

2. Get ready for increased traffic
Everyone who had off during the summer gets back into the daily grind of commuting on the same day.  Tampa Bay roads get so crowded, and it takes longer to get everywhere.  I prepare for school to start back up by giving myself an extra 15-30 minutes wherever I'm trying to go.

3.  Cherish every moment!
I know it sounds so cliché, but time flies when you have kids.  Like I shared in my  last What's Up Wednesday post, I am excited for Vincent to start VPK this year, but feel like it was just yesterday that I cried after dropping him off at daycare for the first time.  On Monday he moved into his new room at school, and I'm preparing myself for the mix of emotions that this year will bring as he learns how to read and write and get ready to move into Elementary School next year.  These pictures are from his first day in the "big kid room" at daycare.  Of course Arianna had to get in on the fun.

Can we just talk for a moment about how this girl is 18 months old today!! #timepleasestop
I feel like just yesterday I was taking her monthly pictures for her 1/2 birthday and celebrating her 1st birthday.  You can see all of our monthly pictures from her first 12 months here

She looks so big to me in these pictures, and is already throwing tantrums like a three-year-old.  Our family became complete when she joined it, and she's brought so much joy to our lives.  We love you Arianna Jade Florio!!
