What's Up Wednesday (12/28/17)

...and just like that it's the last Wednesday of 2017!!  What amazing year it's been.  I want to start today by thanking you all for taking time to read my posts.  I like to archive our family memories, but I also like to share what we're up to with you all, so thank you for your continued support!!

We've had a great month, stuffed with holiday activities with those we love the most, so here's a little look at what we've been up to this month.

On the last Wednesday of the month I link-up with Shay to answer these questions:

1.  What we're eating this week...
Mike made amazing lasagna roll-ups for Christmas dinner.  He made more than enough, so we're enjoying the leftovers.  I also have left no Christmas cookie un-tried...

2.  What I'm reminiscing about...
On Christmas Eve, our neighbors moved to Australia!  We definitely missed celebrating with their family on Christmas and will continue to miss them.  They have become part of our family over the past few years, and we can't wait to follow their journey across the world!  We ended November with a celebratory send-off, letting them know how much they are loved!

3.  What I'm loving...
TRADITIONS!  This month I was loving all of the traditions I have with my family and friends.  These pics are from our annual girls cookie exchange...

This year Mike and I started  a new tradition with the kids, by taking them to our local Chick-Fil-A for milkshakes.  I know it doesn't sound that exciting, and Arianna's face looks thrilled (lol), but our location puts up thousands of lights every year, and it's truly magical!  Something we will continue to do with the kids.

4.  What we've been up to...
Chichi, our elf, returned at the end of the month and brought the kids tickets to the North Pole Express to see Santa.  So we took a train to meet him and made memories with the kids!

Santa also came on a firetruck through our annual neighborhood parade...

We went back to Disney on what was possibly the coldest day of the year so far...

We saw our mall Santa...priceless...

We went to cookie parties and painted ornaments...

We rode a train at our annual neighborhood holiday party...

We holiday partied at school....

and we celebrated the birth of our Lord!!

No wonder I'm feeling so tired! We have been busy this month!  I didn't take too many pictures of the kids on Christmas, because they were opening their presents so quickly, and I just wanted to enjoy the moment with them.  It was a great day, and we are truly blessed!

Here's a random pic of my brother-in-law and Vincent, they had wayyyy too much fun together over Christmas!

 5.  What I'm dreading...
Still dreading the closeup of Christmas and putting all of the Christmas decorations away.  I think it will be my goal to get it done this weekend, that we can start the new year with a clean and organized house!

6.  What I'm working on...
My 2018 goals, will be sharing more about those next month.

7.  What I'm excited about...
This month we took Arianna to an ENT because of the amount of ear infections she's been having lately.  I am so excited that he did not believe she was ready for tube surgery yet, and that we can come back with him if they continue, but for now, no surgery! Great news for this momma heart :)

8.  What I'm watching/reading...
Vincent and I saw "Olaf's Frozen Adventure" in the theatre before we saw "Coco," but then it came on network television, so we taped it for Arianna.  We have been watching this on repeat in my house, and I love the message behind it!

Can't wait for "This is Us" to return next month...

Currently reading "Delicious" with my girls.  I'm still at the very beginning, so I can let you know what I thought about it next month.

9.  What I'm listening to...
In December we kept the radio tuned into the 24/7 Christmas music station.  So much fun! This year Vincent learned the words to Frosty the Snowan and Rudolph the Rednose Reindeer...I love listening to him sing!

10.  What I'm wearing...
I got this cute "ugly" sweater for a few parties we went to this year from Nordstrom.

I also recently bought a few things from their bi-annual sale (Thanks B&L) and am excited for them to get here!

11.  What I'm doing this weekend...
Celebrating the new year with my family!  I'm teaching yoga on Saturday and then planning to take a class on the 1st.  Also planning to get down those beautiful Christmas decorations.

12.  What I'm looking forward to next month...
VEGAS!!! At the end of January Mike and I are heading to Vegas for a Hendrixson family cousin reunion! Wishing my brother could come, he will be so missed.  Definitely looking forward to a trip back to our favorite city and spending time with my family.

13.  What else is new...
Arianna had her first case of hand, foot and mouth virus this month and it was horrible! The good news is that it was a mild case, so she got over it quickly, but the bad news is that it is a truly miserable virus and as a parent you feel so helpless when your child gets it!  Here's a pic of the little girl finally able to eat some ranch dressing on a carrot after day 2.

14.  Bonus Question - What is the best gift you've ever given a guy...
Ha! Im the worst at getting Mike gifts, he buys everything he wants and is so difficult to shop for.  I would say that the best gift I've ever given him are our two children, but he would probably tell you his Gucci shoes...lol  #shoeaddict #gottalovehim

Check back later this week for my 2017 Year in Review!  I can't believe this year is almost over.

XO

Shari
