What's Up Wednesday (5/30/18)

May is over, and the Florios are tired!  We did so much this month, we were busy literally every weekend with something.  Here's a little look at what we've been up to this month...

On the last Wednesday of the month I link-up with Shay to answer these questions:

1.  What we're eating this week...
All of the healthy things to make up for my over-eating while I was off last week!

2.  What I'm reminiscing about...
On the 27th, my hubby and I, celebrated SIX years of marriage!  It has been the best years of my life being married to my best friend, and I am so thankful for the family and home that we have built together.

Also reminiscing about how quickly my babies are growing up!  The other day after Arianna's nap, she was just not ready to get up yet, and she fell asleep on me like this.  I was not mad about it, and let her stay there as long as she wanted.

3.  What I'm loving...
I bought this Becca highlighter when it was half off at Sephora (looks like you can still get it for $17), and I love the glow it gives me! It's perfect for summer and adding that extra shimmer to your cheeks.

4.  What we've been up to...
SO MUCH!!  Over the last week alone we had VPK graduation, went to Busch Gardens, went to a Rays baseball game and went to Disney World!! This month we've been busy making memories and really jumping into summer.

We registered Vincent for Kindergarten.  I was so much easier than I thought it would be.

We celebrated Cinco de Mayo with chips and queso (I think Arianna is a fan)

One of my very best friends graduated with her Associates degree, so proud of her!
(can we just talk about how cute my nephew is!?)

We celebrated Mother's Day with Muffins for Mommy at school.

We went to see my favorite, JT!

We celebrated the Royal Wedding with donuts in our jammies!

5.  What I'm dreading...
Now that VPK graduation is over, and I made it through with no tears...I guess now I am dreading the first day of school! It will be here before I know it (August 10th) and I'll have a Kindergartner in the house!  It is going to mean that I have two kids at two different schools for a few years and the new schedule will be something that takes time getting used to.  It is bittersweet watching my kids grow up, I am just so happy to be able to be there for all of the big moments.

Here are some of my favorite pictures from his graduation week.  I'm glad that my boy has big goals for his career :)

His teachers gifted us with this amazing book where each of his classmates drew a picture and there was a description about their favorite things.  Even though I didn't cry at graduation, this definitely brought tears to my eyes.

Tae Kwan Do graduation where he broke a board advanced to the next belt rank.

First and last day of VPK!

Some of the few pics I got of him during his actual graduation.

6.  What I'm working on...
This month, on top of #doingallofthethings I started a yoga mentorship program with one of my very favorite teachers.  It is the beginning of my 300hr yoga teacher certification, which will take me a few years, but I will be working on improving my teaching skills over the next 7 months.

7.  What I'm excited about...
I am still on a high from all of the family time that we got in while my brother and his wife and kids were here visiting.  We don't get to see them often, but when we do, we make the most of it.  It is so exciting to see our kids bond as cousins, and it makes me so happy!

8.  What I'm watching/reading...
Keeping to my goals, and still reading through The One Year Bible...

I just finished The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer as part of my mandatory reading for the yoga mentorship and the concepts in this book are amazing! I told Mike that he should read it, and I would highly recommend this book.  It is a quick and easy read that will change your mindset about awareness and consciousness.

I also just finished listening to The Identicals on audible, and loved this book! It was my first Elin Hilderbrand book, but not my last.

The Bachelorette started this week...

And at the end of the month Big Brother will be back!!

9.  What I'm listening to...
This month we are going to see Luke Bryan and Sam Hunt on tour, so we are listening to their albums on repeat to get ready.

10.  What I'm wearing...
You guys, I have a problem, and it's called Nordstrom addiction! I can't stop! lol
I got this new dress and wore it to Vincent's graduation, it was under $50.   It comes in so many colors, but I loved the black for dressing it up or down.

I also bought another one of these maxis, because I love my blue, and it's basically my summer uniform.  Makes me look put together, but is really just one piece.  I got the ski patrol red color, and can't wait to wear it!

11.  What I'm doing this weekend...
We are taking Mike away for a special birthday surprise weekend! Looking forward to a little mini vacation with the family.

12.  What I'm looking forward to next month...
June is full of more graduation parties, birthdays and lazy days spent by the pool.  We will spend lots of time celebrating Mike with his birthday and Father's Day.  Looking forward to spoiling him a little next month.

13.  What else is new...
This month I've been participating in the #photoadayinmay2018 photo challenge on Instagram!  I have posted one photo a day, and loved finding the pictures of my day that fit in with the day's theme.  If you're not following me on Instagram, you can find me at @simplyshari

Also, we spent Memorial Day at the happiest place on Earth #disneyworld! It was a great way to end the month, celebrate our graduate and Mike and I's anniversary.

I promise that I will have a Disney tips and tricks post up soon, but here are some cute pictures from that day.

It is not lost on me the reason that we celebrate, working my full-time job, every day I honor the Veterans that have served our country, and for those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice, we are forever grateful for the freedoms that they have provided us.

14.  Bonus Question - What is your favorite summer salad...
This is not really a salad, but one of my favorite salads turned appetizers to bring to summer get togethers.  These caprese skewers are so easy to make, and everyone loves them.  I am always surprised how quickly they go.  I highly recommend bringing to your next party.

If you made it all the way to the end, thank you for reading!! May was a fun month for us, and I love having you follow along with us on our adventures!

How We - Transition Our Wardrobes

Happy Wednesday everyone!!  Today I'm linking up with  up with Mix and Match Mamma and A Little Bit of Everything to share "how we" transition our wardrobes.

Here's the schedule for the rest of the year, if you want to join in too!

You can see my April post here

Sometimes I think I take for granted that fact that I get to live where people vacation.  Born and raised, and having never lived anywhere else, Florida is my home and I'm a true Floridian at heart and soul (meaning I get cold when the temps get below 65)!

In Florida, I don't really "transition" my wardrobe like many people may have to do that live in colder climates.  I have a small portion of my closet dedicated to long-sleeve shirts and pants, but I don't pack those away when the summertime rolls around.  In Florida, we can wear white jeans all year long and flip flops most of the year too!

One of my favorite ways to transition my pieces into seasons is with a jean jacket.  Here I am with my new favorite dress, styled two ways.

One with the jacket, one without.  #easypeasy

I bought this jacket from Old Navy a few years ago.  It was cheap, it has held up well, and I wear it all the time.  Here's a similar style that I found online, if not the same jacket.

What is your favorite way to transition your favorite pieces over the seasons, if you have them?
