What's Up Wednesday (5/29/19)

It's the end of May, and summer is officially here!  We still have 3 days left of school, but with the blazing Florida temperatures, there's no doubt that we've hit those summer months!  Here's a look at everything we've been up to this month.   

On the last Wednesday of the month I link-up with Shay and Sheaffer to answer these questions:

1.  What we're eating this week...
Mike got me an air fryer for our anniversary, which is exactly what I wanted! We had Trader Joes Cauliflower Gnocchi in it last night, and it came out so good!  I found this recipe that I followed, super easy!  I added a little pesto once they were done, and it was the perfect, quick and delicious dinner!

2.  What I'm reminiscing about...
7 years ago on Memorial Day weekend, my love and I said our vows.  If you missed this week's blog post about my husband, and some of my favorite things about him, you can see it here.  

3.  What I'm loving...
I also featured some of my favorite new beauty products in last week's Friday Favorites.

4.  What we've been up to...
We made tie-dye shirts with our friends...

Celebrated "Muffins with Mommy" for Mother's Day at Arianna's school...

Celebrated Mother's Day with my mom, and the kids loved swimming in Nana's pool...

Vincent moved up a level in Karate...

Watched Vincent and Ari's bestie in her beautiful recital...

Celebrated Vincent at his end of the year Kindergarten show...

Lost our second tooth (thanks MVP!)...

Both kids leveled up in swim lessons on the same day...

We celebrated our 7th anniversary with our family at Epcot...

Vincent rode Soarin with me for the first time, and said it was his new favorite ride!

5.  What I'm dreading...

Well, it's here, last month I said I was dreading the summer months full of 100% humidity, and hotter temperatures that make you want to stay inside.  After a day at Disney on Monday, I told Mike that you can find me inside for the rest of the summer :)

6.  What I'm working on...
Last month I said I was working to get some more blog posts up on this blog, and I did! 

7.  What I'm excited about...

This weekend is Arianna's first dance recital.  This is a moment I've been looking forward to ever since I stepped off of that stage.  I love watching her perform, and can't wait to soak it all in this weekend.  Here's a sneak of her costume, from when we first tried it on.  Saying I'm excited for this moment with my mini is an understatement!

8.  What I'm watching/reading...

I am so happy that Amazing Race is back on tv.  I love the show, and this year's theme is former reality tv show contestants, which puts it even more up my alley!

I am reading The Last Mrs. Parrish, and the end of the book has taken a total twist.  The beginning was cringe-worthy, but I am loving the ending of this book!

9.  What I'm listening to...
I am totally into the Jonas Brother's new album, lol!  Arianna loves "Sucker" and Mommy does too :) 

10.  What I'm wearing...
I got Arianna and I these matching shirts from Jane.com and they are pretty good quality.  Light weight and cute, they say "Best Day Ever." She loves wearing them together, and I love matching her! We also love matching princess Jasmine! Can't wait to see Aladdin in the movie theatre.  

11.  What I'm doing this weekend...
This weekend will be full of dance recital rehearsal, performances and time spent with family!

12.  What I'm looking forward to next month...
June is Mike's birthday, I can't wait to celebrate him!

13.  What else is new...
This month I started a clean eating challenge that my local Pure Barre studio is hosting.  For 30 days, eating clean, with one cheat day a week.  It has been hard friends, especially with holidays and end of year celebrations, but I am so proud of my results!

7 Years of Marriage!

Today we celebrate 7 amazing years of marriage! I have always loved Memorial Day weekend, but it has a special meaning for me now because 7 years ago today, we were with our family and closest friends as we said our vows and committed to each other forever!

One of my favorite things about this day, is that we share our anniversary with my cousins.  They have been married 12 years today, Happy Anniversary Schnell's!  Over the last 7 years, we've built a life and family together, and I can't imagine it any other way!

So in honor of our anniversary today, I would like to share 7 of the things I love most about my husband.  Of course, there are thousands of reasons that he makes me happy, and is my favorite, but these are the ones I think about first when I think of him.

1.  The way he loves his kids!   I always knew that he would be a great Dad, but watching him excel in a very natural way in this role, has been one of my greatest joys over the last almost 6 years. 

2.  His family! I grew up in a small, close-nit family, but I have loved joining the Florio clan.  They are all amazing and seeing the way that they love each other is so special! Mike always puts his family first, and I admire that about him. 

3.  His devotion to his customers.  A few years into our marriage, Mike decided he needed a career change.  I was skeptical, but becoming a Realtor has made him more passionate and more dedicated to his line of work.  I have never met someone who works harder for their clients, and puts their interests ahead of his own like he does.  It has been an honor to stand by his side and watch his business grow over these last few years.  

4.  The way that he supports me.  Mike has always supported my goals and dreams.  He's right there cheering me on, every time I'm ready to "learn something new", especially when it comes to yoga.   He lets me focus on my practice, and continuing education on my journey to becoming a better yoga teacher.  I am so grateful to him for all that he does to support me!

5.  The way that he makes me laugh.  If you've met Mike, then you know what I'm talking about.  He loves to crack jokes, even when they may not be completely appropriate, but he's had me laughing since the beginning, and I'm sure will continue to keep me laughing as we grow old and grey together.  

6.  He goes along with my crazy ideas.  I love to travel, and explore new things.  Mike has been there by my side, even when some of my ideas didn't turn out to be the smartest.  Of course he lets me hear about them, but I know he enjoys that I love planning special events or trips for the two of us to get away from our daily routine.  

7.  He is the calm to my crazy.  When I get worked up about things, he brings me back to my reasons.  When I get upset, he calms me down.  When I get frustrated, he lightens the mood.  I don't know how he puts up with me, but I am so glad that he does!

Friday Favorites - New Makeup Finds

Happy Friday everyone!  We made it through the week.  Some of you are done with school, some of us aren't!  We still have to go back and finish next week, I'm not sure why, but that's ok. We are looking forward to the long weekend ahead of us.  

In today's post, I want to share some of my recent new beauty finds.  I shopped the Ulta and Sephora sales, and found some good ones!  I know that they aren't on sale now, but are still worth recommending for you all to try.  

1.  Nars Orgasm Afterglow Lip Balm
I love Nars Orgasm blush, so I figured I would give this balm a try.  It goes on like a gloss, and gives a subtle color/highlight.  

2.  Drunk Elephant Jelly Cleanser
I tried this in a sample form, and LOVED it! So during the VIB sale, I repurchased the larger size.  It goes on so smoothly, and leaves your face feeling so clean and fresh!  This product is considered "clean" meaning that it is only made with natural ingredients, added plus!

3.  GLAMGLOW Tropicalcleanse Daily Exfoliator
I received a sample size of this product with my order, but will definitely re-order it.  It smells like I imagine Hawaii smells, and removes all of the dead skin from your face.  After use, it feels so soft! 

4.  Tarte Toasted Eyeshadow Palette
I purchased this during a daily deal that Ulta had, and I got it for 50% off.  I love the warm and neutral colors.  It's compact enough that makes it easy to travel with.  It has been my go-to palette since I got it. 

5.  Anastasia Beverly Hills Blush Trio
I also purchased this blush trio during an Ulta daily special, for 50% off, in the color "Pool Party".  I love the peachy-pink tones, and the sparkle that the center pink offers.  I have been blending all three for an amazing color on my cheeks, but I think you could use each of them separately as well.  Highly recommend this great quality blush. 

I hope you all have an amazing long weekend friends.  I am so very grateful for the ultimate sacrifice that many soldiers have payed for our freedom.  My job at the VA is a constant reminder of their stories and the reason we celebrate this weekend.  I am so very grateful for their service!
