What's Up Wednesday (5/27/20)

Today is my 8-year anniversary with my husband!! 8 years ago today we were celebrating our love with our family and friends overlooking the Las Vegas strip.  I wish I could go back and re-live that day, one of the best day's of my life!

We have 2 more days of school, and Friday can't come soon enough.  Here's a look at what we've been up to this month!
On the last Wednesday of the month I link-up with Shay and Sheaffer to answer these questions:

1.  What we're eating this week...

By 9am everyday, my kids are still asking for snacks.  We made this delicious s'mores desert last week and we're still eating it.  It was super easy, and the kids have been having so much fun helping me cook around the house these last 11 weeks.

2.  What I'm reminiscing about...
Our wedding day, 8 years ago today!  8 years married, two beautiful kids, spent the last 11 weeks with our family...what else could I ask for!?

3.  What I'm loving...
This month our community pool re-opened. We have probably taken the kids every day, it has been so nice to get some of their energy out and let them swim and play.  We are loving this time together as a family every day!

4.  What we've been up to...
Honestly, this month looks a lot like last month...staying home and spending time together as a family.  Quarantine feels...

We celebrated Cinco de Mayo, and my nephew's birthday, with margaritas and homemade crunch wraps from Broccyourbody's recipe...

Lots of walks in our neighborhood.  I'm so grateful for where we live...

We got to celebrate Mother's Day with my mom, which was so special to me...

Lots of lazy days...

We also finally made it out to the beach!  This was a highlight of this month for sure...

5.  What I'm dreading...
Right now I am not dreading anything.  I am more looking forward to the end of the school year this week and the official start of summer.

6.  What I'm working on...
This month, I've been posting for a #photoadayinMay2020 and it has been super fun!  Head to my Instagram page @simplyshari to catch up.

7.  What I'm excited about...
I love, love, love my new bracelets I gifted to myself for Mother's Day from reef rain aria!  She is a small women-owned business, which makes it even better.

8.  What I'm watching/reading...
I am officially hooked on All American and almost done with Season 2!

I finished reading The 5 Love Languages, and recommend it to anyone looking to understand more about their own and their partner's love language.

I started reading Everything Is Figureoutable, and I'm excited to dig more into the concepts introduced in this book.

I also have been listening to Little Fires Everywhere on Audible, but I am moving through it slowly.  I usually listen to audio books during my commute to and from work and other places, but since I haven't been anywhere due to quarantine, it's taking me a while to get through.

9.  What I'm listening to...
I am loving the new releases coming out from Lady Gaga, and excited for her new album to drop soon.  Still so disappointed that our trip to Vegas earlier this month to see her perform got canceled.

10.  What I'm wearing...
More time at home, means more online quarantine purchases!  I seriously need to stop.  This dress is expected to arrive at my doorstep today, and I'm excited because it matches a dress my daughter got from her friend Mia. I will match her until she tells me I can't anymore.

11.  What I'm doing this weekend...
This weekend we are planning to set up the inflatable pool and spend more time together as a family again.

12.  What I'm looking forward to next month...
June is a fun month because we get to celebrate my husband twice!  He's having a big milestone birthday on the 4th and Father's Day later in the month.  Unfortunately many of our plans for June have been canceled, like our big family cruise, so I am trying to not think about the things we are missing out on, and just count our blessings.

13.  What else is new...
That's it for now.  Wishing you all an amazing start to the summer and continue to stay happy, healthy and safe!

XO

Lets Look (5/13/20)

Happy Wednesday everyone!  We are counting down the days until school is out for the summer here in Florida.  I thought it would be fun to re-join one of my favorite link-ups.  Today I'll be linking up with Mix and Match Mama and A Little Bit of Everything to bring you a fun look at our weekend!

I haven't joined a "Lets Look" since October of last year!  You can see that post here.  Here's the scheduled, if you want to join in too!

I looked over at Arianna on Friday night and thought to myself, where did my baby go?! She has literally grown right in front of my eyes these last 9 weeks...

Friday night crafts, and hair goals...

On Saturday morning, I took Roxy for our first "drive-thru" Veterinary experience.  She just needed her rabies vaccine, but they also did a check-up.  I waited in the car while they performed the exam, and called me with the findings over the phone...

Our favorite quarantine purchase made it's reappearance when I got home from the vet...

Sunday morning I woke up to the sweetest homemade messages from my family and chocolate chip pancakes and eggs...

I love celebrating all that my mom has done for me, especially on Mother's Day!  This picture is one of my favorites, especially since I am missing Disney so much right now...

I bought this dress from Target for a Spring Break trip, that got canceled.  Was waiting for a special occasion to wear it, and I think Mother's Day with my family fit that bill...

It was the first time I had done my hair and makeup in a while, and that needed to be documented.  Roxy wanted in on the action.  She's the pup that made me a mom and responsible for something other than myself...

My Mom and Dad came over, and it was the perfect way to end the day.  We ordered take-out, and enjoyed spending time together as a family after so many weeks apart...

Being a mom is one of the most rewarding and challenging jobs I've ever had.  I am my truest self when I am "Mommy" to Vincent and Arianna.  It was definitely not the busy weekend we are used to in May, but it was the perfect weekend at home quarantined with our family.  I hope you all had a nice Mother's Day!

XO
