What's Up Wednesday (6/30/21)

It is the last Wednesday and day of the month, tomorrow is July!  I can't believe it, we're halfway through this summer!  In today's post, I will share a look at what we've been up to this month.

On the last Wednesday of the month I link-up with Shay and Sheaffer to answer these questions:

1.  What we're eating this week...
Mike and I have started planning out our meals each week.  That way we know what we're eating, can reduce our spend at the grocery store and we know what's coming.  It has been working out great.  Here's the plan I came up with this week:
Monday - Black Bean Quesadillas
Tuesday - Chicken Cesar Salads
Wednesday - Trader Joes Cauliflower Gnocchi or pasta
Thursday - Trader Joes Vegetable stir fry

2.  What I'm reminiscing about...
We started out this month with a visit from my brother and his family over Memorial Day weekend.  It was the best time, and the best visit with the Hendrixson family.  Their visit truly wasn't long enough, but we already have another trip planned for the end of November, so I feel good knowing that I will see them soon.

3.  What I'm loving...

4.  What we've been up to...
After my brother's visit, we went to our favorite resort in Orlando with our friends, who are more like family, to celebrate Mike's birthday.  We had a blast...

Arianna started hip hop/jazz at our local dance studio...

I also took her to see Spirit, which was our first time back in the movies!  It was cute, and we had a fun girls night...

Arianna also had a gymnastics showcase, and that was our first time inside of her gym since COVID, it was so fun watching her do something that she loved...

Vincent started basketball at rec center, and Mike is coaching his team!  Looking forward to cheering the Wizards on this summer, indoor sports for the win in this Florida heat...

We rounded out this fun month with a day celebrating our Dads and how important they are to us! My Dad and Mike's Dad were able to join us, and it was a fun day...

5.  What I'm dreading...
Hi, it's me, and I'm dreading the first day of Kindergarten for my baby girl! The silver lining is that we are almost done with daycare payments, FOREVER!

6.  What I'm working on...
Finalizing plans for our 20-year high school reunion!  It's coming up at the end of July!  It has actually been 21 years since I graduated high school, which really makes me feel old when I think about it, but due to COVID, our reunion was postponed.

7.  What I'm excited about...
This month I hit a huge milestone goal that I have been working towards for almost 8 years! 750 classes at Pure Barre.  This is my home away from home, and honestly, I don't think I've ever belonged to a "gym" more than this relationship with this studio.  It's been a lot of work, but I am so proud of myself!

8.  What I'm watching/reading...
I just finished reading "Such a Fun Age" by Kiley Reid.  It is a story that touches on racism and priviledge, but also what it's like being a working mom in the city and is centered around the family's experience with their babysitter.  I thought it was slow to start, but i couldn't put it down the last few hours of the book.

I also recently ordered "Live Your Life" written by Amanda Kloots and her sister Anna.  I started following Amanda Kloots on social media when she was a private dance instructor for an influencer that I followed.  This was long before she faced the biggest heartbreak of her life, losing her husband Nick to COVID-19.  I can't put this book down, and I know that having it will always remind me of the struggles we all faced in 2020.

9.  What I'm listening to...

10.  What I'm wearing...
I gifted myself these cute sunglasses right before Mike's birthday trip, and I love them! They are my first pair of Le Specs, and so cute and comfortable!
I also just purchased this cute romper/overalls and am looking forward to wearing it soon!

11.  What I'm doing this weekend...
Celebrating 4th of July with Mike's family.  We have not seen all of his cousins in over two years, it will be an exciting reunion, that's for sure!

12.  What I'm looking forward to next month...
In July we have two mini getaways planned for the family.  We are not taking a big summer vacation this year, but we are looking forward to a few little trips.  Also, school supply shopping! Is it strange that I love doing that with my kids?

13.  What else is new...
That's it for now! We will be soaking up the last few weeks of summer before school starts for us in early August!

XO
