What's Up Wednesday (9/27/17)

It is the last Wednesday of the month, I am in Kansas City for work this week, completing the last week of a three-week leadership development program.  September was certainly a month I will never forget, here's a little look at what we've been up to this month.

On the last Wednesday of every month I'm linking up with Shay to answer these questions:

1.  What we're eating this week...
Took at trip to Trader Joes at the beginning of the month and I am loving the everything but the bagel seasoning!  It goes great on everything, especially my eggs.   This has been on a daily rotation.

...and this cauliflower pizza crust from there was yummy!!

2.  What I'm reminiscing about...
I started this month off with a girls trip to NYC, and it was amazing! My college roomies and I  went to see the US Open.  We also packed in all of the other New York touristy stuff we possibly could into the short time we were there.

After the Open we went to an Italian restaurant in Queens and ate all of the bread, cheese, tennis racket pasta and wine - and those were just the appetizers!!

3.  What I'm loving...
Pigtails...

Name writing...

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, but I love watching the relationship between my babies grow!

4.  What we've been up to...
We spent my birthday at the happiest place in the world, Walt Disney World! Vincent rode the tea cups with me for the first time. Arianna kissed the mermaid, the only character she wasn't afraid of.   We had a great day!

(Disney is exhausting!)

We spent a Saturday morning at Busch Gardens and Arianna is big enough to ride all of the kid rides with Vincent.  She had a blast and it was fun to watch her.  Just makes my momma heart sad that she's getting big so fast.  We finally got to take her to the Elmo show and she loved it.

5.  What I'm dreading...
Right now I don't think that there's anything I'm dreading.  I'm looking forward to all of the fun things this time of year has to bring to my family.

6.  What I'm working on...
On Sunday, September 10th through Monday, September 11th Florida was hit by hurricane Irma.  It was one of the most stressful weeks preparing for the storm.  Mike and I agreed that now that we have a family and a house, things are so much more serious than when we were in college planning hurricane parties with our friends.  All week we debated whether or not we should leave or stay, but had done as much as we could to be prepared to weather the storm.  One of the things this storm taught me is how lucky we are to live in the neighborhood we live in.  Every single neighbor helped each other prepare and dedicated their time to getting the Vineyards ready for big ol' Irma.  So we hunkered down and waited it out.

We were lucky the storm took an earlier turn and missed the Tampa Bay area.  Things could have been much worse, and were for a majority of my state.  This picture is of me, Arianna and Roxy surveying the neighborhood.

So, I have been working on ways to give back and help others.  Going through the motions and seeing the devastation on the news, having most of my friends lose power for five or more days really spoke to me to do what I could to give back.  I organized a few donation-based yoga classes that could help relieve some stress from the residents and raise donations for those still in need.  It was something small, but even the smallest way of contributing to a bigger cause made me feel great.

Last week San Juan, PR got hit by hurricane Maria.  Keep them in your prayers.  I have family friends who live there, and will post in the future about ways that we can give back.

7.  What I'm excited about...
Halloween!! I love celebrating Halloween each year with my family.  This will be Vincent's last year with his preschool parade, I love attending those so much!  It is so fun to watch the kids walking around showing off their stuff.  I am posting all of our prior costumes for a look back at our Halloween celebrations (since kids, because that's when life really starts right?)

8.  What I'm watching/reading...
Big Brother ended last week.  I think I was happy with Josh winning, but I felt bad for Paul and his failed second attempt at a win.  If he didn't stab so many people in the back maybe he would have done better #friendship

I know this book is older, and since its release a movie has been made, but I found it at the library and am totally into Me Before You.

Next I plan to read, After You

9.  What I'm listening to...
I have been listening to my regular podcasts and listening to Spotify to find inspiration for my yoga playlists.

10.  What I'm wearing...
My brother and sister-in-law got me this cute for my birthday, I love it!  Florida State Colors and it says "Namaste Y'all"

I got this cute new dress from H&M and wore it this week for my first day of my leadership program.  I love the fall colors and the bell-shaped sleeves.

11.  What I'm doing this weekend...
Hopefully a long overdue date night with my hubby!!

12.  What I'm looking forward to next month...
Since Archer still isn't here, welcoming him into this world! (NOTE - I wrote this on Saturday night preparing to be away for work this week! He came a week and a half early!  All along I've been sure he'd come this month, but figured he would wait until I got back from my work trip!) So now...I can't wait to meet him and snuggle on him this month!!

In October, I Do Yoga will be helping to make another bride's day super special!! I can't wait to help her celebrate her marriage with her closest friends and family.

13.  What else is new...
Both kids had their well visits at the Drs this month (Vincent 4yr, Arianna 18mo) and they are growing perfectly!  The shots on the other hand...those were a disaster!  What was I thinking doing them both at the same time?!?! #lessonslearned
(Before shots)

Arianna got to go on her first bike ride and enjoy a morning at Starbucks with Mommy and Daddy

Thanks to JP, me and Vincent spent a night at the Rays game!  He loved it, asked questions the whole time, and was given the foul ball that almost took us out!  It was a special night for just Vincent and Mommy time and I know one that I will remember forever.

13.  Bonus Question - What TV show are you most excited about this fall...
"This is Us" - enough said!!
